Biography

Richard is a Partner of DaHui Lawyers’ corporate/M&A practice group. He has practiced in China for over 20 years. As a strategic adviser to his clients, Richard’s corporate and M&A practice involves advising on a wide range of cross-border transactions, as well as sensitive, significant and cutting-edge regulatory and compliance issues.

Richard’s practice is characterized by its depth and breadth of experience and involves representing multinational clients with their China-related matters, and Chinese clients investing globally. He has extensive experience advising clients across a number of industries, including automotive, e-commerce, education, energy, exhibitions, manufacturing, mining, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, real estate, TMT, trading, etc.

Richard specializes in complex corporate transactions (e.g., business restructuring, material asset reorganization, public M&A), data compliance audits, export of restricted technology and FDI review.

Before joining DaHui Lawyers, Richard was counsel at Allen & Overy for several years. He also worked as a founding attorney with Paul Hastings’ Shanghai office.
