New Partners Join DaHui in Beijing and Shanghai

This summer, not one but two veteran legal practitioners joined DaHui as partners: Xudong Song in our Beijing office’s IP practice, and Jinsong Song in our Shanghai office’s corporate team.

Xudong Song

Xudong is a former judge in Beijing’s court system from 2005–2017. During his 12-year tenure, Xudong presided over more than 2,700 intellectual property cases and more than 400 other civil, commercial, and administrative cases. Xudong served as the deputy director of the Intellectual Property Court of the Beijing Shijingshan District Court. He was also one of the first judges at the Beijing Intellectual Property Court (which was established in 2014), and he became a presiding judge and team leader there, as well as being in charge of appeal reviews and a member of key committees related to copyright and competition and anti-monopoly. Many of his judgements were selected as guiding cases, and he has published more than 30 scholarly articles in academic journals.

After leaving the court, Xudong became a Partner of King & Wood Mallesons. As a lawyer, Xudong is skilled at intellectual property litigation, anti-unfair competition, anti-monopoly litigation, and other commercial dispute resolution. He has provided professional legal services in nearly 300 cases and projects and represented clients ranging from SOEs and Internet companies to large-scale tech companies, well-known overseas enterprises, and more.

Jinsong Song

Jinsong’s diligence, expertise, and legal acumen helped him rise from an associate to partner in less than ten years at Han Kun. He brings to DaHui a decade of legal practice and experience that we can all learn from, with over 200 domestic and cross-border transactions in PE/VC, M&A, and capital markets under his belt, including IPOs on markets in HK and the US. His work spans biopharma and healthcare, funds, semiconductors, automotive, logistics, consumer goods, and more of the sectors that we work in daily. He also spent time working as in-house counsel for Ping An Insurance, which gave him deep and invaluable insight into legal issues from a business perspective.

With these newest partners joining our teams in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, New York, and Singapore, we are better prepared to help our clients meet the challenges of this dynamic world and capitalize on new opportunities.
