Biography

Song Xudong is a partner in DaHui’s IP practice, with a specialization in IP litigation and commercial dispute resolution. His expertise spans trademark, copyright, patent, anti-unfair competition, antitrust, and more, and he has worked for a long list of clients, including foreign and domestic internet companies, tech companies, etc., as well as numerous state-owned enterprises.

Before joining DaHui, Xudong was a judge in Beijing’s court system from 2005 to 2017. During his 12-year tenure, he served as the deputy director of the Intellectual Property Court of the Beijing Shijingshan District Court. He was also one of the first judges at the newly-created, specialized Beijing Intellectual Property Court, and he became a presiding judge and team leader there, as well as being in charge of appeal reviews and a member of key committees related to copyright, competition, and anti-monopoly. Many of his judgements were selected as guiding cases, and he has published more than 30 scholarly articles in academic journals.
